The routes for both the 10k and 2k Fun Run remain the same and we will have music, catering and toilets (but not changing facilities or baggage storage) on site.

The 2k Fun Run will also be chip timed making it an attractive event for all junior runners, new or experienced.

We are also extremely grateful to the many volunteers who helped out at the event, many of which live in the village and also to our very generous sponsors who supported the event and enabled us to be able to provide valuable funds for our village activities.

If you would like to be a sponsor for this event or volunteer on the day as a marshall, please email me at racedirector@burtonleonard10k.co.uk

Harmony Energy, Knaresborough-based renewable energy developer, which builds, owns, and operates renewable energy facilities throughout the UK, France, Germany, Poland, and New Zealand, is excited to support the event.

Peter Kavanagh, CEO of Harmony Energy, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting such a brilliant local event. It will be great to see people of all ages taking part and enjoying the day.

“Sport and fitness are vital to people and to communities, and we’re delighted to support local races like this.”

The event

This is a not-for-profit project, raising important funds for village sports, our annual Feast, the primary school and Ripon Community House, providing emergency food parcels for people in crisis in our local area. The event has been an ongoing success for over 30 years and attracts competitors and their families from across the region. It is a well-respected, competitive running event due to the quality of the village setting and the challenge of the undulating rural courses.

We look forward to seeing you all in May!
